There are a few little things that happen in my life which I take great pride and time to do. One, happens to be RPing with friends and keeping up in D&D.
I was crusing through CHapters.ca and found they had a few deals on, so I managed to pick up the newest edition of D&D Books for about 80 bucks Canadian, which also had free shipping and handeling.
Now, I was so excited I kinda ended up not just reading through the Players Handbook... I kinda went and tore through the Monster Manuel and DM's Guide... Last night...
My Excessive Geekness behind me, I'd like to say one thing. I am going to enjoy this version equally if not greater than the others I've played.
I've been told storys of 'unbalanced abilitys' and 'overpowered'
By reading through all of the books, I have to say this looks the most ballanced system so far. The people who complained about people people being able to become overpowered at first level enjoyed the toil of almost dying unless you picked your fights at first level, or always started out at higher leveled characters so that they didn't worry about it. Some of my traditional friend who *sigh* "Play a hybrid of First and Second edition" and play the game to... well play hardcore... likes how some of the "Broken" rules (as he calls them) were taken out.
On to another topic, the game "Alone in the Dark" although I think it WOULD be an amazing game. some of the things for the Wii version bug me. It is supposed to be an HD game... and Wii with no HD power give me poligons (amazingly fast ones, but poligons none the less). ALso, things like turning the Nunchuck and WiiRemote different directions to do different things is a great idea... if it worked.
Over all, I like the game, but It would be better on the XBox360 or PS3
And lastly, I like Iron Golems. they are fun, and with a few spells, can have cognative thoughts and a witty personality.
And I'm Out

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
