Write out the names of your characters and explain:
1.) How you thought of their name.
2.) What made you create the character in the first place.
3.) How the character has changed over time (If they have changed).
4.) Any random fun fact about that character.

I'm going to throw a few out, just because I can~! I think I'll only do one from each story though. for funess fact, I'll put their story they belong to beside the name.


Darc D. Leonhearth (Children of the Sky)

1) Darc was not the first offical name for this guy, it was Dart. I stole that one from the game Legend of Dragoon, since I obsessed with whatever game I played last. then I played Arc the Lad: Twilight (something or other) and saw the name 'Darc', and then picked it. Sadly, they become nothing alike, and dart and Darc became different characters in the story all together. the 'D.' stands for 'Drake' which is his fathers name. Most of my characters, if their fathers are important to them, get their middle name labeled as their father's first name. Thats because that is what my parent's did for me, and I think I will always hold that tradition,even once I have kids. 'Leonhearth' came from the fact that Darc is a half-dragon. and I wanted to make it kinda ironic for a last name. so I though Leon=lion and Hearth=fire and a fire lion is obviously a dragon.... or thats what I thought when I was 12 and made him up.

2) I made Darc for an online RP site a friend of mine ran. He was the first character who had his own story and was 100% uniquely mine (except the name...)

3) Darc has evolved the most out of ANY character I have made, and that includes Mass (comming up next). he has grown along with me in life, and his story has changed from "a 7ft, tanned skin, 12yr old boy with red scales and dragon wings" to the behemoth and evolving character he is. his story is now mapped out from before he was born, until he is a great-great-great-grandfather.

4) Back when Darc was for RP games, I used to make him destory the one place he visited everynight. it was called the 'Gatehouse Inn' and I'm sure some of my friends remember more then a few nights of sitting infront of the computer and having epic bar fights there.



Alexander -Mass- Andrew (Tainted Dawn)

1) I LOVE the name Alexander. it is my father's name, and means 'leader of men'. I have always seen the name with great respect and always name protocharacters without names for themselves 'Alec' or 'Al' or 'Alex' I gave it Mass after I poured lots of my heart into the story he belongs to . It just fit. his nicname, and name he goes by 'Mass' came from a simple math formula 'ower=MxVo' and each of the two main characters where designed behind one of the aspects. M = Mass. it was short and sweet, and stuck with him since the verey begining designs.

2) I created Mass for a little fun project in highschool for extra credit in art class. I drew characters that mimiced the personalities of my friends and gave them supwer powers. Mass was myself, and the other character, was one of my best friends. I used to have the sketch book which had the origional picture of mass, but now it's gone.

3) Mass has gone from being a 'happy-go-lucky crime-solving superman' to a 'Bloody gardian who has trust issues' over the years. It was a slow and PAINFUL trip, but Mass has settled as he is now, and won't change (except where I have him planned to change)I'm still upset a little with my decision to change him fromhappy to cranky and angry most of the time, but I've learned to love it these past two year since the change occured, but it's for the best.

4) One thing that hasen't changed with Mass is his favorite food, which is pineapple.



Elle (Graves in Torrondo)

1) I picked this name because after I made the character, I was trying to fit here somewhere. and she reminded me of the girl Elle from the bakery in 'Harvest Moon 64'. Since it's a short story, I didn't bother giving her a last name. Her design has changed since the name giving, but I like the name now.

2) Elle was created for a little story I had going on in the back of my head when I was writing TD. rather than it being a long story, I wanted a short story. I had everything planned out for the mian storyline, but had no way of moving it across, until I made up Elle, a story-loving young girl who wants to find out if they are real or not.

3) Only Elle's personality and my mental image of her have changed. she used to be shy and very introverted, but she has now become a very outspoken young girl.

4) Elle tells everyone that she isn't afraid of anything, but ,although it's not said outloud, she is frightened of lots of things.



Kaizer & Roku (CMD_Driver)

1) these two characters are more one person, so thats why I'm telling both. Kaizer came from me starting with the name 'Kai' who was a quick 1 dimentional character I made up for an RP game a friend of mine started one night. it didn't go very far, but when I came back to it to expand, 'Kai' seemed too much of an Asian sounding name, so I looked up words that started with Kai, and settled on Kaizer. for Roku, I pulled up the translation for 'six' and litrally pointed at one with my eyes closed. I would have wanted Cat, but then he would have had to been '4' instead, which was a no-no.

2) I made them, like I said, for a quick RP. nothing more, nothing less.

3) These guys are, if anything, some of my most genre-switched characters. Kaizer and Roku started as a sci-fi fantasy battle idea, which became a drama about the worrys of advancing reliance of technology, which became a wacky gag book (almost a web-comic... good thing I can't draw) and eventually to where it is now, a sci-fi action mystery.

4) Roku, I always invisioned, to have square puples, like Bender from Futurama, while Kaizer has been blessed with my hair, and not much else of my personality. (by that , I mean his hair is huge, unruly, and curly. he also doesn't comb it, but he does wash it)



Broom (Hero for Hire)

1) Broom's name is given to him in the story by one of the other characters, laura. This is because he avoids her questions t otell her his name. it goes so far as to him forgetting his own name a little, later on in the story. He's called 'Broom' because Broom ends up working in a pub (unable to serve alchohal at the age of 15) as a bus-boy/janitor.

2)Broom came from me wanting to write a book for children. or a series of novels really. not the long dramatic, graphic TD, or one that starts kiddish and becomes a sad story of loss like 'Cat in a Clocktower'. Altough there is action and suspense, there is nothing really dangerious about the book and reminds me of storys like Pippi Longstocking, Kiki's Delivery service, Arthur and the Minimoys and other such ones.

3) Not much evolution has taken place for poor broom. He was going to be older (the same age as Laura, 21) and much more dashing and fairytale heroic, actually wearing oldfashioned knights armour and very very over the top, essentially a prince charming. but now he is scaled back to 15 (and I might make him younger then that, like 14) and is now invisioned with a much less out there personality and role. rather than being a stero typical hero ,he's become a boy who wants to become a hero, which is his goal in life.

4) Broom enjoys doing housework, especially for Laura.



Maximillian Ericson (Tinker's Dream)

1) Max's name came from the origional character who inspired the thought of Max. That would be the name character from Dark Cloud 2, Max the inventor. also, in the time period and Max's high standing in society (or atleast the way he carries himself as such) demanded a more regal name. I chose 'Ericson' because it was close to my family's last name back in scotland, but not quite.

2) Max was, once again, a character I made up for an RP game.

3) Max has gone over a complete transformation. infact, his name used to not be Maximillian, it was Alexander. I designed Max before I started work on TD, and forgot I had named Max Alex. Before, Max (when he was alex) was a huge mammoth of a man with his arm cut off and replaced with a magic-techno floating hand held together by lightning and magnits that he charged by absorbing any form of energy. but, once I changed his name from Alex to Max. something didn't fit right, and the only things I kept for the design was his nickname of 'the one armed man', his loss of an arm, and his power to abrosb energy. and with that, I made him a proper english gentle man, who was a quadro-palegic.... who was the number one killer in the world.

4) Max was a short 2 page story I wrote before I decided to expand the world into a comic-book idea.


Alec (Gate)

1)This was the first story I ever thought of writing as a book/novel. but it never got past the idea stages, and it now kept back and won't be worked on. So I gave the main character the name 'Alec' because the main character has no memory of his past. He chose the name because he liked it, and hated not having something to call himself.

2)I made Alec for the sole reason of doing the story.

3) Alec has more, de evolved than evolved. the story, which I spent most of my 12th grade nights thinking about, had lots of things inside of it which I decontructed for other stories. almost everyone of my hero characters (Mass, Max, Darc, Nin-Jin, Icer, Hammer, etc) have bits of Alec's story inside of them.

4) One day, I might re-do gate, but only if I publish many books, and I don't know if I will publish Gate then, and maybe just keep it for my family, friends, kids, and grandkids to read.
